Andrés de Segura Nieto, a descendant of the governor of the lordship of Orce and Galera, commissioned this palace in 1655; with later additions it was completed in 1750. Its façade, some forty metres long with two floors and a sun gallery, overlooks the upper end of Paseo de los Caños and stands out for its wrought-iron balconies and windows.
The inner courtyard keeps six columns of local white marble supporting a wooden gallery with a balustrade. In 1815 the servants' house was turned into an inn, the Posada de los Caños. The western half, owned by the town council since 1981, has been restored as a venue for conferences and events.
It houses the Municipal Tourist Information Office, the best starting point for planning a visit to the sites and the Geopark; the Granada Geopark lists it as accessible for people with reduced mobility.
