Alcazaba de las Siete Torres (Fortress of the Seven Towers)

A fortress in the centre of Orce, with its keep and parade ground, protected as a Site of Cultural Interest.

Discover

The fortress stands at the heart of the village and takes its name from the towers that enclose its parade ground. Together with the church tower, its keep and walls form the most recognisable skyline of Orce.

Like all castles in Spain, it is protected as a Bien de Interés Cultural (Site of Cultural Interest): the general protection of castles of 1949 became this status with the Spanish Historical Heritage Act of 1985.

It opens in August; the rest of the year, visits can be arranged at the Tourist Office in the Palacio de los Segura.
